2008
A direct lightpath of 30,000 Km long between Taiwan and Czech was established.
TAIWANLIGHT has officially become a member of GLIF Open Lambda Exchange(GOLE).
TWAREN's international circuit has been replaced by TPE Submarine Cable, then the traffic RTT decreased dramatically.
2007
TWAREN established an optical fiber network laboratory in Taiwan.
TWAREN finished the fiber network establishment from New York to Amsterdam.
TWAREN signed a MOU with REANNZ to peer with its KAREN network.
2005
TWAREN's NOC building opened.
NCHC became ISO 9001:2000 Certified.
Taiwan Academic Network (TANet) started to use TWAREN's domestic backbone.
NOC started its operation.
TWAREN Held the TWAREN Users' Meeting.
National Ilan University became TWAREN’s GigaPOP.
2004
TWAREN started its operation.
The first time, TWAREN has its own dark fibers.
NCHC established s central business unit in Taichung, Taiwan.
2003
NCHC's Corporate status was changed to a non-profit organization. TWAREN and KING were initiated as part of the “Challenge 2008” project.
NCHC Completed TWAREN's infrastructure : Planning, design, and establishment.
2002
NCHC obtained the Six-year National Development Plan from the government, which was the birth of TWAREN.
NCHC Established a southern business unit in Tainan, Taiwan.
1998
The National Science Council (NSC) funded NCHC to construct the TANet2. (a.k.a Taiwan Research Network.)
